Charity Sale, Slave Auction & Charity Home Visit

Tuesday [16th March]

Okay I can’t seem to find the pictures for the charity sale but it basically went like this. All the even numbered groups [Group 2,4,6…] had to sell items/offer services today while the odd numbered groups had their turn on Monday. So Group 2 decided to sell hot dogs, Konyaku jelly and Zhi Hao’s home baked ‘Famous Amos’! It turned out pretty well I must say as we made a profit of about rm300! So the money that we’ve made will be used to purchase items for the charity home we’ll be visiting during that weekend.

Thursday [18th March]

On this day, each group had to auction off one [or as many as you like] senior. And the other groups or your own group itself can ‘purchase’ the senior and make them do whatever it is you want them to do. So our group auctioned off kind Charlotte and made her waltz with another guy for rm50. Hehe.. The money from all groups will be split equally and this money will go to the charity home.

Saturday [20th March]

Our group was assigned to Pertubuhan Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah or RACTAR for short. We had to combine with Group 1 for the charity visit so our profits were shared together for the same home. So a few days before the visit, [and after much deliberation], we decided to buy them packets of rice, biscuits and Vico. And there were still leftovers to buy them mini stationery sets. We also set aside some money to buy them pizza for lunch that day but sadly the person in charge said that they already have sponsored food. So we gave them the cash instead.

Group 2 – Coolest Star

So what we did was split the 50 kids into 3 groups. We kinda took the basic idea of Orientation and applied it here. We told them to come up with a group name and a group cheer! And we were acting like OOs! [I must say, it is good practice for the coming Sem 2! wink And the kids were very impressive! They came up with a group cheer so easily and quickly compared to us!

Among the games played that day. [I just realised I haven’t played musical chairs for such a long till that day!]

We couldn’t possibly leave out the little ones so they had a mini musical chair session too. blushblush

The newspaper game. They had to get 5 people to stand on a piece of newspaper and after each round, the newspaper will be folded into half. A lot of teamwork, this one! We also played the Bomb Game and the Takeh Noko Takeh Noko No Kiki game.

Sigh, orientation has left such a huge impact on our lives. =p

With so much food, all we had to pay was about rm12 for a person. Not bad, eh..

I’m sure there’ll be more to come for Group 2! blush
