I can officially say that I can salsa dance. :)
Okay so for those who are in the dark, IMU’s Dance club allows you to choose between Latin or Hip Hop classes. Since I wanted to try something different, I signed up for Latin. And under Latin, there are various types of dances eg. Salsa, Rumba, Cha Cha, Rock & Roll, etc.. And we decided to take Salsa for this semester. :)
To be honest, the steps aren’t difficult hence the title for this post. After 8 classes, I can say that even those with 2 left feet can make this dance look like it was carried out by a pro! ;)
All you need is a pair of shoes [flats/heels/barefoot?] and okay, maybe a good memory. Memorising the steps can be quite tedious [seeing how it’s pretty hard to practice without a partner] but it’s manageable. :) Plus, the teacher’s pretty funny as well! :p But what I like most bout salsa is the twirls!
Okay although I do have to admit that we need more boys in the class. –.- So how do we manage with only 5 guys in the class [including the instructor], well we take turns. –.- But it’s still fun nonetheless! :p
It’s either the cha cha or the rock & roll for the next semester! ;)
