Snapshots!

…in a blink of an eye

This year has been a great year indeed. I would actually say that the year got better as it progressed! 2010 started off with me heading to uni, with hope for a good new start to a new environment, to new people and also to new food. [I’ve pretty much been eating vegetarian food ever since I started going to IMU.. –.- ] And along the way, I’ve met some really good people who I now keep very close to my heart!

But the year did go by fast, too fast in fact that before I realised it, I’m already on the last page of my calendar and the only way you could flip for more pages is if you flip backwards. It’s funny how time flies by so quickly. But I must admit that during the midst of exam preparations, the clock could not tick any slower! >.<

The greatest experience I gained this year [besides joining cheerleading.. :p] was probably when I signed up for a hospital attachment and had to work with HIV patients. It really opened up my eyes to the real world and taught me a lesson: to not judge people just by your first impressions on them. I’m sure everyone judges, either consciously or subconsciously but first impressions do not always portray what a person really is. And I feel that HIV patients shouldn’t be discriminated. It’s sad seeing how they live their lives hiding this fact about themselves from their own families for fear of being disowned. :(

So, for 2011, let’s make it a point to not judge a person based on their appearance and before getting to know them better! And for future doctors out there to not discriminate HIV patients! :)

Happy New Year’s Eve, lovelies!!
