To celebrate our one year of togetherness [It was actually a month ago.. Immaprocrastinator ], Enyaw and I decided to go out for a fancy dinner.
Okay technically, he decided and planned everything and all I had to do was to get ready and wait for him to pick me up that night.
The place was kept a surprise so I only found out where we were going when we were actually there.
It was actually my first time in Gobo [it’s in Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur if you’re wondering] and was it a pleasant first time experience! Enyaw found out about the place after doing some research online and he said that he read off somewhere that Gobo’s ‘the place with the best steak in town’! So he decided to bring me there to try it out. <3
I found the place to be really romantic actually. The light was dimmed and there were burning candles all around [okay they only lit the candles in this picture after I took the picture.. ] The ambience was nice and serene. A lovely place to bring your love ones out for dinner.
There was also a lovely view of KL from the glass-paned windows!
How to not love hot crispy fresh out-of-the-oven rolls? Especially with butter!
Apple & Prawn Salad.
Who knew green apples go so well with prawns! :O
Flamed Lobster Bisque.
Ohhh this was to die for! I enjoyed this one a lot! There was even a piece of sushi in the middle. It might seem weird but the taste of it blended in so well together! The sushi was also fried I think.. o.O
Wild Mushroom Soup.
This one was tasty too. But I thought the lobster bisque tasted yummier.
T-bone steak.
So we obviously ordered steaks as our main dish since the place was known for it. Enyaw ordered this one and it was a huge portion alright!
Sirloin steak.
Honestly, I’m no expert when coming to judge whether a steak is yummy or not [cause I don’t eat them often enough..] but I thought this was tasty. It wasn’t too dry or tough. It was juicy but there was a natural taste to the steak. There wasn’t a lot of spices added in to cover the original taste of the steak so it was something interesting. Those who’ve been there might beg to differ but at least that’s what Enyaw and I agreed on.
I usually like my meat well done. [Don’t want no risk of getting Toxoplasmosis now do we? ] But according to the waiter taking our order, he recommended medium rare as that was how the chef suggested the steak to be eaten. So we decided to give it a try.. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it’d be!
The sauces that we chose. Truffle and some special mustard sauce the waiter recommended. Tasted well with the steak.
Chocolate lava cake with ice cream.
Dessert = favourite meal of the day!!
There was even strawberry sauce underneath the cake and inside the cake!
The chefs were more than happy to get their pictures taken! haha
Happy Anniversary baby! <3
p.s this blogpost was actually pre-posted. I’m currently preparing for my EOS 3 [that I mentioned about in my previous post] and will probably only be back here again after my exams at the end of June. Please pray for me!
