Snapshots!

Of ben’s, Sephora and Monte Carlo..

Today was a girly girl hang out sesh! <3 Carmen, XiuJun and I decided to go for a lunch and movie date! We even chose a chic flick movie to complete the girly-ness of it all.. >.< I realised how prettyy Selena Gomez is after watching Monte Carlo! And also how I kept thinking of Blair every time I saw Leighton Meester in the movie.. Gossip Girl deprived. –.- Overall I enjoyed the movie. :D [Like how I always enjoy chic flicks.. hehe :p]

XiuJun, Carmen and I

We had lunch at ben’s. It’s funny how I’ve never noticed the restaurant before [It’s in Pavillion if you’re wondering]. It’s a real pretty and cosy place. :)

But it was also very pack! We had to wait for about 20mins to get a seat. Guess this shows that the food’s good? :p

edit10

We actually tried requesting for a seat outside but it was all full. :( But I guess we can call ourselves somewhat lucky that we got a seat on the inside cause it rained heavily halfway through our meal. >.<

Wild Mushroom Spaghetti and Mascarpone

(Wikipedia : Mascarpone is an Italian triple-cream cheese made from crème fraîche, denatured with tartaric acid)

XiuJun ordered this pasta.. It has a very interesting flavour! I think it takes some getting used to but it’s something you should try if you want something out of the norm.. Well I’m generally a cheese lover so I thought it was quite tasty and somewhat different.

Char-Grilled Seafood Spaghetti

Carmen chose this pasta.. I thought this tasted like any typical seafood pasta.. But then again, I just took one bite.. >.<

edit3

Creamy Tomato Spaghetti [or in this case, Linguini]

I thought this was super yummy!!! But they really gotta go easy on the pepper! :/ After just the first bite, I could taste the spiciness already.. If it was less spicy, it would have tasted yummier! :D

Oh and it’s suppose to be served with spaghetti but I prefer thicker pastas like fettuccini but they didn’t have it so I opted for linguini instead. So when my pasta arrived, it was spaghetti instead of linguini but I didn’t really mind and didn’t say anything to the waiters. My blogger self started taking pictures of the food that arrived. And all of a sudden, a waiter came by and took my plate away without me saying anything! I was so shocked [cause I was in the midst of taking pictures.. ] and in like 5-10mins, he came back with linguini! What good service! I didn’t even complain! :D

Hmm I wondered what happened to my spaghetti though.. It’s a real waste if they threw it away cause I didn’t even touch it yet! :S

DESSERTS!!!

Clearly, we were spoilt for choice!

edit8

So we kinda narrowed it down to either the Black Forest, the Banana Cake, the Red Velvet Cake and some tarts that I can’t remember the name. >.<

edit9

Ohhh and we were also deciding whether to get the apple crumble.. Doesn’t it look so good???

edit20

But in the end, we chose the Banana Cake. It wasn’t a bad choice. We actually thought that it’d be like the banana cake in Secret Recipe where you get actual banana slices in the cake but this is just real.. banana cake. xD And cashew nuts on top and some cream that tasted like caramel. I expected it to be really sweet but it was just nice! Not diabetic inducing.. :)

I’m gonna go back one day to try their other cakes and tarts. Such a sucker for desserts. Teehee.. :)

edit16

This building is really deceiving! To think it looks really big [from the outside..] But it’s not.. –.-

edit17

After hearing and reading [on blogs and Facebook] bout Sephora, XiuJun and I wanted to go check it out too! Peer pressure much! :p And realised that it’s kinda like a Sasa except with some bigger brands. –.-

And I also realised that it’s not cheap wanting to be pretty.. x_x But then again, make-up products do last pretty long so I guess you can say it’s a good investment?

edit18

Oh and Picasa isn’t that hard to operate afterall! :D
