Time sure flies by. Not too long ago, I was still in high school. How I’ve missed the smell of white board marker, greeting teachers in the morning in our monotonous voice, waiting in anticipation for the breakfast and lunch bell to go off, unpacking/rearranging books in my locker, gossiping with classmates, stressing out over class tests/mid years and mainly all exams [especially PMR and SPM!], going for Prefect duties and mainly listening to the droning voice of our teachers. [but I must say, some teachers were very much entertaining!]. Sigh, those were the high school years. I sure miss wearing the Sri KDU school uniform. [I still prefer the old uniform by the way! ]
Then came a year of college. Now, that year really flew by in a blink of an eye! College year was somewhat different from high school. Despite only studying with classmates for one year, a tight friendship has been formed. Maybe it was partly due to more independence [seeing that most of us can drive..] hence being able to spend more time out with friends and not only within the four walls of Taylor’s College Sri Hartamas.
College year has also been pretty hectic, with me taking SAM. Everything was squeezed into one year. I won’t forget how we [or more like me!] panicked over finishing assignments in time and studying for class tests all in the same week! Not to forget, there were assignments for ALL 5 subjects! It sure taught me the importance of time management [I am going to try to not procrastinate!]! I remember being so stressed out at one point when nearing the finals! I thought I was gonna break down! I didn’t know how I was faring among the whole world so I was really worried bout not getting accepted into uni [I only applied for one uni!]. But thank God everything turned out the way I wanted it to be in the end.
[Okay for those confused bout SAM, its a one year programme with 50% of your score being internal and the other 50% being external. Internal assessments include class tests, assignments, lab reports and the sorts whereas the external is the final exam. And in December, your results will be in the form of a TER [Tertiary Entrance Rank] where you are ranked among all students taking SAM from all over the world with the highest rank being 99.95. ]
So after having a 3 month long break [I think my brain’s turned into mush ], I’m finally starting uni tomorrow! Chapters of my life in high school and college have closed but they will forever stay with me. For now,a new chapter is about to begin. With everything going according to plan, I got accepted to read Medicine in International Medical University [IMU] in Bukit Jalil to do a twinning programme. So wish me luck for tomorrow! Will blog about life as a university student soon!
