life and times of chloek.: Taiping Part 1

Day 1 [15th February Monday]

There has been many misconceptions about where my hometown is. Most of my friends think that I’m from Ipoh as I’ve stayed there for a couple of years before this. So to clarify things, my hometown is actually in Taiping. [It’s in Perak if you’re wondering..]

It’s been awhile since we’ve been on a road trip so the drive back to Taiping felt like forever!

So to keep ourselves occupied for the 3-4 hour journey, we played with iPhones. But after about half an hour, we got bored.

So then we either slept in the car, or look at sceneries.

And we couldn’t wait to get down at rest stops to stretch our legs. There were 4 people at the back seat mind you. [We brought our maid along with us..]

And more sceneries..

After the long grueling hours in the car, we finally arrived at Taiping.. It ain’t your big city but it’s a Bandar Berwarisan okay?

Upon arrival, we went to the hawker stall we always go to when we’re back in Taiping. Sadly, the mee rebus stall wasn’t open.

It’s only rm2.50 per plate!

I can never get enough of oo jien!

After we ate, we went to our Ah Mah’s house in Aulong.

And I saw my cousin’s daughters for the first time!

I’m an aunt!

At night, we went over to my uncle’s house for dinner.

The thing about Taiping is that everywhere’s so close by. We could just walk to our uncle’s house. My mum used to cycle all around Aulong when she was a teenager!
