Day 2 [16th February Tuesday]
So after the heavy breakfast, we walked back home. Then we prepared all the necessary items to bring to the Old Folks Home. Every year, some of my relatives will go to the Old Folks Home and Orphanage in Taiping to give out items such as ang paos, packets of rice, bathing soap, toothbrush and toothpaste and etc. So this year, my family decided to join in for a change as we were also back in Taiping.
After doing our part [which was wishing them a happy new year and giving out items], we went to the Orphanage which was just next door.
I hope we managed to make their day.
The visit made me realise how fortunate we actually are and that I shouldn’t take what I have for granted. I’m gonna try to live everyday like there’s no tomorrow! And to be grateful for what I have; a loving family and good friends.
Oh and a really unfortunate event happened that day. As we were driving to somewhere [I can’t remember to where.. ], my aunt’s car got into an accident..
But thank God, no one was hurt.
We weren’t suppose to make a turn but seeing how all of us were from out of town, we didn’t realise and weren’t familiar with the road. While my aunt was making the turn, another car hit the back of her car.
A glass of fruit juice is like rm1.60!! And it’s the freshly squeezed kind!
Throughout my stay in Taiping, I think I had lobak for about 4-5 times??? But there was this stall that sold really good ones. But the camera died so I couldn’t get shot of it.
My favourite ride in the playground is the swing. I like it when the wind blows your hair.. Heehee.. *unleash little girl mode*
Day 3 [17th February Wednesday]
Woke up much later on the last day in Taiping and had lunch at home. Mummy did the cooking this time. After lunch, we had another gambling session. This time, all of us were in it even my 12 year old brother.
But it was really fun, partly because I won money
but mainly cause it was also some sort of bonding session. [It was nice seeing my grandparents so happy!
] Then in the evening, we headed back home to KL. The dreaded car ride!! But thank God we arrived home safely.
All in all, it was a good CNY spent. I felt closer to my relatives as I haven’t been back to my hometown for CNY for some time. So it was good to celebrate it in Taiping this year. Looking forward to another celebration over there next year!
